A Month to Forgive

Friend, grace and peace be multiplied unto you in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

I believe that all is well with you and your family and that God has continued to show Himself faithful and true to you. My wife and I are well and we bless the LORD for His mercies that are new every morning, great is Our Faithful God.

God has placed in my spirit that this be a Month to Forgive.

Many of us are at different stages in our forgiving walk. It is my prayer that this month you will renew this walk in your life. The Bible is very clear on this… “And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.” Mark 11:25-26

Fire

Friend, a small fire can lead to a whole forests burning. A small flame of fire if ignored can cause unimaginable disaster. The same is with unforgiveness. Failure to forgive can lead to your prayers not being answered (Mark 11:26). The heaven will be closed for you and all your prayers will be fruitless. In fact, our whole Christian faith and life can be in vain if we do not forgive. God is very particular with this and we read over and over “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:32. Again in Luke 17:3-4, we read “Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.” Friend, my prayer is that God will endow you with the grace, the patience and the ability to forgive whatever the circumstance in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

Too Painful

Sometimes, the pain or hurt caused is too much. Still we are commanded to forgive. Matthew 5:44 says “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you” . In the Bible, we see Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Ghost. He preached wonderfully till he was stoned to death. Friend, these men were throwing stones to kill him. It was painful, it hurt and Stephen lost his life. Yet, while they were stoning him, praise God, he cried out to God..the Bible says “And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.” Acts 7:60 Friend, yes, what may have been done to you is unbearable but we have to forgive. I pray that a forgiving heart will be formed in us in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. One of those that he forgave was a man called Saul, later became known as Paul who wrote almost three quarters of the new testament. You never know what God can do with that one that you forgive. May God help us in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. Never forget, Jesus said “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you” Matthew 6:14. Jesus Christ on the cross prayed to God and said “Father forgive them”, May this be our lifestyle in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

Poison

Unforgiveness can also be compared to a silent poison. The person that does not forgive does not know that he or she is taking poison but sooner or later it culminates in death. I pray to God that you will be delivered from the sin of unforgiveness in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. Remember, we are admonished to love and not live in hatred. 1 John 2:9 “He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.” One that does not forgive may falsely believe he is in the light when in actuality he is still in darkness. May God open our eyes to see our hearts and if there be any unforgiveness, may He uproot it in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. Like David, may we cry that a new heart be formed in us, a heart that forgives in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

Destiny

Unforgiveness is a destiny destroyer. Joseph never succumbed to this. His brothers threw him into a pit, they sold him and hated him openly. Friend, you may have experienced this among the brethren, if not you will with time meet such people; what will be your response. My prayer is that you will forgive them just as Joseph forgave his brothers. We read, “And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God? But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them.” Genesis 50:19-21. Friend, do not let unforgiveness steal your destiny in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. Whatever they meant for evil, God is able to turn it around for your good. It does not matter if those that hurt you are related to you by blood, forgive them. Is it your dad? Forgive him. Is it your mom? Forgive her. Is it your brothers or sisters or nieces or uncle or anty or grandparents? Forgive them. Is it your workmates, boss, subordinates or even a friend? Forgive in Jesus Name, Amen. Have you been hurt in the Church by members, or deacons, or ushers, or the pastor, or elders; friend – Forgive in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

Peace

Friend, my prayer is that you and I will “Follow peace with all men, and holiness” because the Bible continues to say, “without which no man shall see the Lord” Hebrews 12:14. I pray that we all shall see God in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. Friend,  my other prayer is that we may “Put on therefore, as God's elect, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, longsuffering; forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man have a complaint against any; even as the Lord forgave you, so also do ye.” Colossians 3:12-13. This I pray in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

“Don't ever say, "I'll get you for that!"Wait for God; he'll settle the score.” Proverbs 20:22 (Message)

God bless you and enable you by His Spirit to walk in forgiveness in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

Blessing,

Bro. Chester
