A Season of Comfort

Praise the Lord! It is our hope that the good Lord, the Great Shepherd, has looked over you safely thus far. We are believing that He who has kept you through the first part of this year will be with you for the rest of the year in Jesus Precious Name. Amen.

My wife and I have seen His faithfulness thus far and even though our seasons have changed He has remained the same, forever faithful.

The number seven has a rich biblical meaning and is associated with Rest, Jubilee, Favor, Completeness and Covenant. I sense this month unfolding as a “Month of Comfort“.

In one of the most widely recited Psalms, we hear the Psalmist David say, “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want” and he continues “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death , I shall fear no evil, for You are with me, Your rod and Your staff they comfort me”. I see God, the Great Shepherd, the Master Comforter, visiting you in a special way this month. The Psalmist points out some real important factors here:

He says, I will fear no evil for You are with me.. God is saying, even if your circumstances seem to resemble the “valley of the shadow of death“, He wants you to know that He is with you.. The doctors may be giving you a discouraging report, the company where you work may be retrenching staff, your current boss may be frustrating you, the children may be giving you a hard time, even in the midst of all that God is saying , “I am with you”. He is with you to comfort you. The Holy Spirit’s duty is to comfort you. He is the Comforter and He enjoys being your Comforter so embrace Him today.

Being a shepherd, David knew the value of a rod and staff. The rod was used for counting the sheep, and for guiding, rescuing and protecting them. This season, God is going to bring comfort to you in like manner. He will ensure that you are counted, yes He will ensure that you are included and not left out, even when men would try to leave you out. David was forgotten in the field and left out by his own father but God ensured that he was brought before the Prophet Samuel to be anointed. You will not be left out in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.

The rod was used to protect and rescue the sheep from foxes, snakes and other wild beasts. I see God protecting you and rescuing you from the schemes of darkness and the devises of the enemy that is targeted against you this season. God will bring comfort to you through divine protection. He is your Redeemer. God kept the children of Israel and comforted them means of a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. He will do the same for you in Jesus Wonderful Name. Amen.

The other instrument the shepherd used was a staff which was really an item of support. Friend, the cares of this world may be heavy for you, the financial burden, the family issues and relational issues may be weighing you down, The God of all Comfort is asking you to cast all your cares upon Him for He cares for you. Lean on Him, support yourself on Him, He is willing and able to take your heavy load and give you His which is light.

Today, the Comforting Master is declaring comfort to you in your situation, May God grant you strength to receive His comfort in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.

Be blessed.
