God has a plan for You

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29:11

Jeremiah was one of the Greatest Prophets Israel ever had. He was the Son of a Priest, by the name of Anathoth. Early in his life the Lord spoke to him saying “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5). In other words, the Lord was letting Jeremiah know that his life had already been planned even before he was conceived in his mother’s womb. In Jeremiah 29:11, God confirmed to Jeremiah that the plans He has for him are good.

The Psalmist David, also acknowledged that God knew him before he was conceived and that He has good plans for him. David says “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.” (Psalm 139:14-18)

Friend, these words also apply to us. God knew us before we were knitted together in our mother’s womb. He knows everything about us and because He is good, His plans and thoughts towards us are good. It is important to note however that God’s plan for Jeremiah and David was fulfilled because they aligned themselves with that plan. When God declares in Jeremiah that He knows the plans He has for us, we need to believe it. No one has ever trusted God in vain. God is a Master Planner and He makes no mistakes in His plans. His plans are always excellent. We see His wonderful plans fulfilled in the life of Abraham; Joseph, even Jacob who lied and cheated his brother out of his birthright; in Gideon, a fearful man; in David an adulterer and even in Peter, a fearful fisherman.

Are you worried about what the future holds? Have you been wondering whether the circumstances you are in now will ever change for the better? Friend, God has a plan for you. He will lead you. It does not matter if you are currently passing through the valley of the shadow of death; He says, He will be with you. Receive this wonderful assurance in your heart “The thoughts that God has for you are all for good and not for evil. David says these thoughts cannot be numbered. They are as many as the sand on the seashore. These thoughts include your health, your finances, your husband, your wife, your children, your job, your ministry etc. These precious thoughts cannot be numbered; praise The Lord.

Prayers

God Almighty, help me understand and accept that the thoughts that you have for me are for good and not for evil, to give me a future and an expected end in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
